The Scouting Programs
Proven Programs for All Youth
Scouting invites every youth to a safe, fun place to learn, explore, and grow. The Scouting experience is divided into different programs tailored for boys and girls ages 5 to 20.
The Chickasaw Council currently offers four of them, all of which share a common goal — preparing young people for lives of impact and purpose. We welcome, at every level of Scouting, youth and families who wish to live such a life of impact and purpose, guided by the Scout Oath and Law.
Discovery is at the heart of Scouting. Whether it’s a campout, derby car race, or hike on the trail, we believe every adventure helps us uncover a little more about ourselves. We build the foundations for humility and compassion — strengthening character through actions — to prepare youth for a lifetime of leadership.
Cub Scouts>
Boys & Girls Grades K–5
Cub Scouting is all about encouraging boys and girls to make friends, be helpful to others, and do their very best no matter the outcome. With the help of powerful learning projects and exciting outdoor activities, we aim to teach children that doing their best can be a fun and rewarding experience — no matter the difficulty of the challenge.
Scouts BSA>
Youth Ages 11–17
Scouts BSA is the traditional Scouting experience where boys and girls can have their share of adventure in the great outdoors. Develop a love of service by volunteering in your community, boost your leadership skills through fun and exciting challenges, and create memories of a lifetime with no prior Scouting experience required!
Venturing>
Coed Ages 11–17
Venturing is a youth-led program all about building adventures with your friends. Choose to do activities that matter to you and develop essential skills like leadership, event-planning, organization, communication, and responsibility while having a blast!
Exploring>
Coed Ages 10–20
Exploring is a unique career exploration program that provides students with an opportunity to learn about a wide variety of fields and network with professionals already working in those fields. You get hands-on experience to determine whether or not a particular career field is right for you.
Order of the Arrow>
Youth 11–20 & Adult Scouters
The OA is Scouting’s National Honor Society. As an integral part of Scouting America, the OA delivers peer-led advanced leadership experiences that help to build lifelong bonds through service and enrich each member’s Scouting journey. OA members are defined by the fellowship they share, service to others, commitment to personal growth, and self-driven initiative to make a difference in their community.
