Scouting America Pistol Shooting Ranges Require the Supervision of an NRA Trained Pistol Instructor
If you are 21 years old or older and interested in working with our Scouts in the Chickasaw Council Shooting Sports Programs, come take this three-day class and become a trained Pistol Instructor. If so, you will most certainly put a smile on a Scout’s face and yours too.
Pistol Instructor Training Class
Prerequisites Included:
Basic Instructor Training (BIT) – Must have completed BIT within the last two years
Basic Pistol
Location / Class Times
BIT class will be held via ZOOM / Friday, January 30, 6:00 pm
Basic Pistol and Instructor classes will be help at Camp Currier – Golightly Cabin
Basic Pistol Saturday, January 31, 8:00 am – 12:00 pm
Pistol Instructor Saturday, January 31, following Basic Rifle – 8:00pm
Sunday, February 1, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
Included:
All course material
Meals – Lunch Saturday and Sunday - Dinner Saturday
Pistols and Ammo will be provided.
Course Goals:
To develop NRA Certified Pistol Instructors who possess the knowledge, skill, and attitude essential to organize, conduct, and supervise safe rifle shooting activities for our Scouts. (A Pistol Instructor is required on all Scouting America Pistol ranges.)
Course Requirements:
Must participate in class discussions and demonstrations.
Must score 90% on an open book test.
Must pass a shooting proficiency test.
Course Fee: Scouters - $150.00 Payable to the Chickasaw Council.
Non-Scouters - $250.00 Payable to the Chickasaw Council.

Registration closes two weeks prior to the start of class. Payment must be made one week prior to start date.
There is a 4 person minimum per class. Classes that do not meet this minimum before registration closes will be cancelled.
