Scouting for Food (SFF) is a nationwide Boy Scouts of America community service project, in which Scouts and all participants canvas communities collecting food for a neighborhood food pantry or the Mid-South Food Bank. All units, Scouts, Explorers, leaders, parents, siblings, family members, and friends in Chickasaw Council are invited to join the fun and make an impact regarding food insecurity.
This is a pivotal year for reintroducing Scouting for Food as a signature council-wide community service project. We are positioning SFF as the first community service activity for new Scouts and healthy competition for the existing ones.
THE GOAL IS TO COLLECT 25,000 LBS. WE ENCOURAGE ALL UNITS TO COMMIT TO COLLECTING AT LEAST THREE BAGS. Use the form at the bottom of this page to sign up your unit!

HOW TO HELP!
- Local Business Opportunities
- Calling all volunteers, parents, and supporters who own a local business to collect a minimum of three bags from clients/customers.
- Weigh-in
- You can drop the food off directly to the Mid-South Food Bank, located at 3865 S. Perkins Rd, Memphis, TN, 901-527-0841.
- If you have a designated a local pantry, please weigh the bag and add to your tally.
- If you do not have a home scale, estimate one (1) pound per can and use your best judgement with other items.
- Money Collection
- If money or checks are given for the Scouting for Food drive, be sure to collect the cash or checks and turn them in at the Council office, to Erin Pfaffenroth, by Monday, November 22. We have a special account for "Scouting for Food" and will send a check to the Mid-South Food Bank unless designated for another pantry.
- Online donations to the Mid-South Food Bank can be made here.
