BSA Rifle Shooting Ranges Require the Supervision of an NRA Trained Rifle Instructor

If you are 21 years old or older and interested in working with our Scouts in the Chickasaw Council Shooting Sports Programs, come take this three-day class and become a trained Rifle Instructor. If so, you will most certainly put a smile on a Scout’s face and yours too.

Prerequisites Included:

Basic Instructor Training (BIT) – Must have completed BIT within the last two years

Basic Rifle

Location / Class Times

BIT class will be held via ZOOM / Friday, April 26 6:00 pm

Basic Rifle and Instructor classes will be help at Camp Currier – Golightly Cabin

Basic Rifle Saturday, April 27, 8:00 am – 12:00 pm

Rifle Instructor Saturday, April 27 following Basic Rifle – 8:00pm

Sunday, April 28 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

Included:

All course material

Meals – Lunch Saturday and Sunday - Dinner Saturday

Rifles and Ammo will be provided.

Course Goals:

To develop NRA Certified Rifle Instructors who possess the knowledge, skill, and attitude essential to organize, conduct, and supervise safe rifle shooting activities for our Scouts. (A Rifle Instructor is required on all BSA Rifle ranges.)

Course Requirements:

Must participate in class discussions and demonstrations.

Must score 90% on an open book test.

Must pass a shooting proficiency test.

Course Fee: Scouters - $150.00 Payable to the Chickasaw Council.

Non-Scouters - $250.00 Payable to the Chickasaw Council.
