2024 Wolf River WOWOREE

We would like to welcome all Scouts, Webelos, Scouters, and parents to a new take on Woworee as we gather for our fall 2024 event. This Wowporee pulls together a number of ideas that we hope will benefit both troops and Webelos. First, we felt that we would celebrate scouting relaunching as Scouting America, using this for the theming of the event. Second, we wanted to encourage the spirit of competition that is a traditional part of camporees, but with a twist. Instead of presenting events and challenges for scout patrols to compete in, scouts will be creating and presenting events, competing to create fun, advancement opportunities, and challenges for Webelos. Our third objective is to bring area scout troops and Webelos together. With troop visitations no longer part of rank advancement for the Arrow of Light rank, we wanted to give an opportunity for scouts and cubs to meet. As the Webelos/Arrows go from event to event, they are getting a chance to meet the various scout troops, getting a sense of what each troop is about while they learn skills and complete competitions. Meanwhile, Webelo parents will simultaneously get a chance to meet leaders, ask questions, and also get a taste of how each troop is different. This will hopefully allow Webelos and parents to learn about troops they might consider when it comes time for crossover.
